    50-53 Power Glide cars all used forged steel cams. The lifters shipped from 50-52 were GM part 5230650 while the lifter for 1953 was GM part 5230850. Both had chilled iron bases. In 1954 Chevrolet introduced part 5231450. This softer faced hydraulic lifter was designed for use with the new cast iron cams.
